This program provides the skills, concepts, and training required to guide certified divers, assist SSI Instructors with Open Water Diver courses and Specialty SCUBA Training courses as an Active Status* SSI Divemaster.
Whether your goal is to work professionally in the dive industry or to become a stronger, more confident leader in the water, this program prepares you to take on a leadership role in diving.
Prerequisites
- Minimum Age, 18
- SSI ReAct Right Certification
- SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Certification
- 60 Logged Dives, 40 Hours accumulated Time
- Medical Clearance: Signed medical form from a licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.) within the last 12 months
Completion Requirements
- SSI Deep Diver Certification
- SSI Navigation Diver Certification
- SSI Night & Limited Visibility Diver Certification
- Pass all Requirements and Evaluations
- Final Exam Score of 90%

Assistant Instructor
Assistant Instructor
This program provides the skills, concepts, and teaching experience required to become an effective SSI Assistant Instructor. You will learn the SSI Teaching System and philosophy, how to assist with Open Water Diver courses, and how to independently teach a variety of SSI Training courses as an Active Status* SSI Assistant Instructor.
Prerequisites
- Minimum Age, 18
- SSI ReAct Right Certification
- SSI Divemaster rating or Equivalent
- 60 Logged Dives, 40 Hours accumulated Time
- Be an Open Water Diver or higher for at least six months prior to starting the Instructor Training Course.
- Medical Clearance: Signed medical form from a licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.) within the last 12 months
Completion Requirements
- SSI Deep Diver Certification
- SSI Navigation Diver Certification
- SSI Night & Limited Visibility Diver Certification
- 75 Logged Dives, 50 Hours Accumulated Time
- Pass all Requirements and Evaluations
- Final Exam Score of 90%

Open Water Instructor
Open Water Instructor
This program provides the skills, concepts, and training required to become an effective SSI Instructor. You will learn the SSI Teaching System and philosophy, and how to teach and evaluate Open Water Diver students, as an Active Status* SSI Instructor. It will also prepare the candidate for their Instructor Evaluation.
Prerequisites
- Minimum Age, 18
- SSI Enriched Air Diver(Nitrox) or Equivalent
- SSi ReAct Right Certification
- SSI Divemaster rating or Equivalent
- 100 Logged Dives, 65 Hours accumulated Time
- Be an Open Water Diver or higher for at least six months prior to starting the Instructor Training Course.
- Medical Clearance: Signed medical form from a licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.) within the last 12 months
