PADI Digital Underwater Photographer
PADI Digital Underwater Photographer I
This class is for the diver with or without a camera. We have camera’s available for you to rent for the class, or you can use your own. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to decide which type of camera you want to purchase for yourself.This class is designed around the basic “point and shoot” digital camera. The class covers basic knowledge of digital cameras and shooting techniques. We will also get into some of the problems associated with photography under the surface.
You will also learn how to assemble a camera and housing, O-ring maintenance, and entry and exit techniques.
Course Requirements
This class involves one evening in the classroom and one evening in the pool. You will have earned the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer I certification at the end of the class.
Class Prerequisites
Must be a certified Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, or a snorkeler.

Camera Rental
PADI Digital Underwater Photographer II
This class is designed to take you, the photographer, to a new level. In this class, you will learn more detailed information about digital photography like file formats, resolution, aperture and shutter speed control, histograms, and exposure value adjustments. You will also learn about composition as it pertains to photography in general and underwater photography in particular. We will also learn about strobes and their use, and what to do with your photos after you’ve taken them.As with our PADI Digital Underwater Photographer I course, rental cameras are available. The cameras for this class are more complicated and have the adjustments available to fine-tune your photographs.
Course Requirements
This class involves approximately 6 hours of classroom time, and approximately 2 hours of pool time. One open water dive is required for certification. (This dive is separate from the course.)

Camera Rental
Underwater Digital Photographer III
This class is designed to help you with the problems associated with diving with a camera, particularly buoyancy. This is a private class for 1 or 2 students at a time. We will spend an evening in the classroom with your camera and learn to make the necessary adjustments specific to you camera.
We will also spend and evening in the pool working on buoyancy exercises to aid you in diving with a camera.
Course Requirements
Approximately 4 hours of classroom time and 4 hours of pool time. Two open water dives (not included) are required for this course. Upon the completion of this course, you will receive the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty certification. (We’ve tweaked the standard course for camera use.)
